Steve Wirtz, Sales Director
Steve Wirtz is the Sales Director for EPC Group. Steve has extensive experience in the
pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Steve has worked with organizations such as Marion
Laboratories, Hoechst Marion Roussel, and AstraZeneca. Steve previously worked at AstraZeneca
where he grew Astra’s government business from $400,000 to $6 million dollars in just three
years. Steve was voted the Excellence in Leadership Award in 1992 for Marion Labs and
Outstanding Contributor for Astra Corporate Accounts in 1996. Steve was then promoted to
Director of Government Affairs and became the first Washington Representative for Astra
at the Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers Association in 1999.
Steve also has comprehensive experience in the health care data industry with NDCHealth
and in the pharmacy benefit management sector with AdvancePCS and Caremark.
Before he joined AccessMED and US Oncology, Steve was Vice-President of
Pharmaceutical Products and Services at Caremark Rx, where he led the integration
of the outside sales forces of those two PBMs.
During his career in the pharmaceutical industry, Steve has had the opportunity to view
the medical industry through the perspective of the manufacturer, marketer, provider,
insurer, the patient, and health maintenance organizations.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri and has
continued his education and professional growth through executive education courses at
Harvard School of Public Health, Columbia University, and UCLA.
