Challenges Facing Haskell:

The Haskell organization had a large investment in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and is looking to implement a new Power BI Report Service in the cloud to improve on their real-time business intelligence capabilities. There is a need to extract data real-time from the organization’s data warehouse, ERP and several other key line of business systems such as JD Edwards.

Haskell was looking for a proven partner to develop a best practices migration plan, governance strategy as well as perform the overall migration of its existing SSRS environment over to Power BI.

EPC Group’s Solution:

EPC Group’s Senior Power BI architecture team worked closely with Haskell’s stakeholders to audit the current BI assets of the organization and provide best practices recommendations and develop a proven roadmap. EPC Group also developed a migration plan while ensuring the migrated reports followed an approved Haskell Power BI theme and set of approved Power BI templates.

EPC Group also worked to incorporate Haskell’s new BI Branding as bridge to the old environment to help with end-user adoption while creating common Layout Best Practices included in the new Haskell Power BI templates that followed approved color schemes.

We also worked closely with Haskell to implement Power BI source and version control to ensure the change management aspect of Power BI was tightly controlled at the enterprise.

EPC Group also developed automated deployment scripts to ensure seamless automation of many manual tasks which greatly lowered the overall cost of ownership for Power BI for the organization. Lastly, we provided post go-live support and extensive knowledge transfer to ensure all decision points of the effort were conveyed in a granular manner to the project’s key stakeholders.
