Opening answer. In November 2023 an IT services partner countersigned a fixed-scope statement of work with EPC Group to move one acquired company into its parent's central Microsoft 365 tenant. The company ran two environments:

  • Google Workspace: 427 users, 427 Gmail mailboxes and 6.76 TB of Google Drive
  • a Microsoft 365 tenant used by 153 of those people, including SharePoint, OneDrive and Microsoft Teams

The scope was sized from a health check and inventory of both environments that EPC Group had already completed. It runs in four phases over an estimated nine to thirteen weeks.

Disclosure. This is an EPC-reported anonymized engagement summary. The partner, the parent company and the acquired company are not named. The countersigned statement of work and the assessment workbooks are retained privately and are not published in the Evidence Center, so this account is outside the Evidence Center's documented-engagement counts. Every engagement fact below is taken from those documents.

Verification class

Contracted — countersigned (EPC-reported; documents private). The partner signed the statement of work electronically in November 2023. The assessment workbooks for the two environments are dated October to November 2023. No cut-over record, acceptance or outcome measurement is cited or claimed.

Approach and artifacts

Measure first, then fix the scope. The statement of work is fixed-scope because its numbers come from a completed assessment of both environments, not from estimates:

  • user and mailbox counts
  • Drive volume
  • how many people actually use the Microsoft 365 tenant

Two sources, one destination. Mail and Drive come from Google Workspace, while SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams come from the company's own Microsoft 365 tenant. Both environments are planned and migrated in the same project.

Scope fenced in writing. Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps and AI elements are listed as out of scope.
