SharePoint Migration Accelerator — a fixed-fee accelerator from EPC Group
Last updated by Errin O'Connor, Founder & Chief AI Architect, EPC Group

- Duration
- 4–8 weeks
- Team
- Senior architect named on the Statement of Work; engagement lead where the program size warrants it.
- How it is priced
- Fixed fee, quoted after a 30-minute scoping call. EPC Group does not publish price ranges.
What it is
The accelerator is the planning and pilot phase of a migration done properly. The source environment is assessed — size, customizations, workflows, permissions, dormant content — and a target information architecture is designed rather than inherited. Permissions are mapped and the remediation plan written, because migrated permission sprawl is still permission sprawl.
Three representative sites are migrated as a pilot so the runbook is proven on the organization's own content, and the migration runbook and timeline that close the engagement are what the full programme executes against, wave by wave.
Who it is for
Organizations migrating to SharePoint Online from SharePoint on-premises, file shares or other platforms, who need the migration planned and proven on a pilot before the waves are scheduled.
Start here by size — Run a multi-wave programme. Migrations, landing zones and Centers of Excellence delivered in waves across a large estate. The organizations EPC Group serves, and the ones it does not, are set out on the fit page.
Deliverables
Source environment assessment (up to 1 TB)
Inventory of sites, content, customizations and workflows with the dormant content identified.
Target information architecture design
Hub and site structure, metadata and navigation designed for how the organization works now.
Permission mapping and remediation plan
Source permissions mapped to target groups with the sprawl fixed before it moves.
Pilot migration of three representative sites
The runbook proven on real content, with the fidelity checks recorded.
Migration runbook and timeline
Wave plan, tooling, cut-over steps and communications for the full programme.
Post-migration validation checklist
What is checked after every wave and who signs it off.
What is not included
- The full migration waves beyond the three pilot sites — scoped as a programme from the runbook.
- Re-platforming of custom solutions and workflows (SPFx, Power Automate) — identified in the assessment, built separately.
- Source environments above 1 TB without a scoping adjustment.
Anything outside the deliverables above is a change order under the Engagement Charter — written, priced and approved before the work starts.
When to start
- SharePoint Server support is ending and the organization has not sized the move.
- A file-share or third-party platform contract renewal forces a decision.
- An earlier migration moved the mess along with the content.
How it is priced
Fixed fee, quoted after a 30-minute scoping call. EPC Group does not publish price ranges. The scoping call is run by the architect who would lead the work; the fixed fee, the deliverables and the acceptance criteria are written into the Statement of Work, and the change-control, escalation and acceptance rules are the ones in the Engagement Charter.
Frequently Asked Questions
The runbook names the tool per source: Microsoft's Migration Manager for file shares and OneDrive, a third-party tool for SharePoint-to-SharePoint and complex workflow estates; the choice is made in the assessment.
Book the scoping call
