Three-way enterprise foundation model gateway comparison. Multi-model access (GPT, Claude, Llama, Gemini, Mistral). Governance, pricing, identity integration, and enterprise readiness for Fortune 500.

In 2026, every Fortune 500 enterprise needs a foundation model gateway that lets them access multiple AI models — GPT, Claude, Llama, Gemini, Mistral, and others — through a single governed surface. Three platforms dominate: AWS Bedrock, Microsoft Foundry (formerly Azure AI Studio), and Google Vertex AI Model Garden.
AWS Bedrock offers 30+ foundation models (Claude, Llama, Cohere, Mistral, Amazon Titan, AI21, Stability AI) through AWS-native identity (IAM) + governance (CloudTrail + Macie). Pricing is per-token consumption with AWS Bedrock Provisioned Throughput for predictable workloads. Strongest for AWS-native enterprises with heavy data in S3.
Microsoft Foundry offers GPT-4o, GPT-5, Claude (via Microsoft partnership), Llama, Mistral, and Microsoft Phi through Azure-native identity (Microsoft Entra ID) + governance (Microsoft Purview + Defender + Agent 365). Pricing is per-token + Azure compute. Strongest for Microsoft 365 / Azure-native enterprises (75 percent of Fortune 500).
Google Vertex AI Model Garden offers Gemini, Claude (via Google partnership), Llama, Mistral, Falcon, and Google's own models through Google Cloud IAM + Cloud DLP. Pricing is per-token + GCP compute. Strongest for GCP-engineering-led organizations with BigQuery + Vertex AI Search data gravity.
1. Identity + governance plane. For Microsoft-native enterprises, Microsoft Foundry's tight Entra ID + Purview + Agent 365 integration is unmatched. For AWS-native enterprises with IAM as the source of truth, Bedrock is the natural choice. For GCP-heavy organizations, Vertex AI Model Garden integrates deepest with the existing GCP estate.
2. Model availability and update cadence. All three keep pace on the major commercial models (Claude, Llama, Mistral). Microsoft Foundry has the deepest GPT-family integration (the OpenAI partnership is structural). Bedrock has the widest open-source + niche model coverage. Vertex Model Garden has the deepest Gemini integration plus Imagen + Veo for multimodal.
3. Pricing and compute economics. All three are pay-per-token consumption. At Fortune 500 volume, the meaningful differentiator is committed-use discounts: Azure has the most flexible commit structures, AWS has the deepest Reserved Instance ecosystem, GCP has the longest committed-use discount terms.
For Microsoft-stack enterprises (75 percent of Fortune 500), Microsoft Foundry is the right primary model gateway. It provides full multi-model access (GPT, Claude, Llama, Mistral, Phi) through one identity + governance surface, with Microsoft Agent 365 extending governance to AI agents built on top of those models.
For AWS-heavy enterprises with data lakes on S3, AWS Bedrock minimizes data-egress costs and integrates natively with existing AWS data + ML infrastructure.
For GCP-heavy enterprises with BigQuery + Vertex AI Search, Vertex AI Model Garden is the right choice.
The advanced architecture (appearing at $5B+ enterprises) is multi-cloud foundation model gateways via tools like LiteLLM or Portkey that abstract across all three platforms — providing maximum vendor portability but adding an additional governance layer to manage.
