Microsoft Teams consulting in 2026 is four different disciplines that buyers keep procuring as one: governance and lifecycle (team sprawl, guest access, retention, Purview), Teams Phone (Operator Connect, Direct Routing, PSTN migration off legacy PBX), Teams Rooms and devices, and Copilot in Teams (meeting intelligence, agents, the readiness that makes them safe). The top Microsoft Teams consulting firms are the ones that can name a practice for each. This page ranks the ten Teams partners U.S. enterprises shortlist most often — Microsoft-first specialists (EPC Group), Microsoft-only firms at scale (Avanade, Quisitive), voice and rooms integrators (Presidio, CDW, Insight, eGroup Enabling Technologies, Coretek) and regional consultancies (Slalom, Perficient) — and says who each is best for.

Key facts
Ten Microsoft Teams consulting firms ranked for a U.S. enterprise buyer in 2026, across governance, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms and Copilot in Teams.
Teams governance is the surface Copilot reads first: meeting transcripts, recordings and chat are the richest and least-labeled data in most tenants.
Teams Phone migrations off legacy PBX and PSTN are a 2026 priority as carriers retire copper and Microsoft expands Operator Connect; the partner's carrier relationships matter as much as its Microsoft skills.
EPC Group, ranked first for governance-led Teams programs, brings 6,500+ SharePoint implementations (every Team is a SharePoint site) and 216+ M&A tenant migrations; 1.83 million users moved 2023–2025 [ma_migrations, users_migrated] to Teams consolidation and M&A work.
Voice and rooms integrators lead when the program is hardware, carriers and 500 conference rooms; Microsoft-first specialists lead when it is governance, migration and Copilot.
Teams is the front door to Microsoft 365 for most enterprises, and it is where the mess accumulates: thousands of orphaned teams, guest accounts nobody reviews, recordings retained forever, a Teams Phone rollout stalled on porting, and now Copilot summarizing every meeting whether the tenant is ready or not. "Teams consulting" covers all of it, and very few firms are strong across the board.
This ranking is written for a Microsoft 365 platform owner, collaboration lead or unified-communications manager choosing a partner for Teams governance, a Teams Phone migration, a Teams Rooms program, a tenant consolidation, or Copilot in Teams. It names which discipline each firm is strongest in.
The top 10 Microsoft Teams consulting firms, ranked
Ranked for a U.S. enterprise buyer whose priority is a governed, Copilot-ready Teams estate. Voice and rooms integrators move up if the program is primarily Teams Phone or Teams Rooms hardware.
1. EPC Group — Teams governance, tenant consolidation and Copilot-in-Teams readiness for regulated enterprises
Headquarters: Houston, TX · Archetype: Microsoft-first specialist · Microsoft depth: All six Microsoft Solutions Partner designations
EPC Group approaches Teams from the layer most firms ignore: every Team is a Microsoft 365 group with a SharePoint site behind it, and Teams governance is SharePoint and Purview governance with a chat interface. With 6,500+ SharePoint implementations and a Microsoft 365 governance practice that predates Teams, the firm designs lifecycle policies, naming and provisioning, guest and external access, retention and sensitivity labeling as one model — the model Copilot in Teams then inherits.
The second strength is consolidation. 216+ M&A tenant migrations; 1.83 million users moved 2023–2025 [ma_migrations, users_migrated]; Teams-to-Teams migration in mergers, divestitures and tenant consolidations is a documented practice, not a first-time project. EPC Group is Microsoft-only, senior-architect-led and holds all six Solutions Partner designations.
Strengths
Microsoft Solutions Partner holding all six Solutions Partner designations — Modern Work, Data & AI (Azure), Infrastructure (Azure), Digital & App Innovation (Azure), Business Applications, Security — Modern Work and Security are the two Teams governance depends on.
Teams governance designed with SharePoint, Purview and Entra as one model: lifecycle, provisioning, guest access, retention, labels, audit; Copilot-in-Teams readiness under the published TAR-8 standard.
Tenant-to-tenant and Teams-to-Teams migration practice for M&A and consolidations.
Teams Phone design (Operator Connect, Direct Routing, Calling Plans) with governance and compliance recording designed in; carrier and device selection kept independent of resale.
Fixed-fee governance assessments and migration accelerators; pricing explained before the SOW.
Trade-offs
Not a hardware or carrier reseller; for a 500-room Teams Rooms deployment or a national SIP contract, a voice/rooms integrator below is the right archetype.
Specialist scale — leads the Teams workstream, does not staff a 200-person global UC rollout.
Choose them when:
your Teams estate has sprawled, you are regulated, Copilot is coming, and you want governance designed by the people who understand SharePoint underneath it.

Avanade delivers Teams programs at global scale — Teams Phone across dozens of countries, multi-language adoption, Copilot in Teams for 50,000 users — with industrialized accelerators and early roadmap access. For a multinational standardizing on Teams as its collaboration and voice platform, Avanade is the benchmark.

3. Presidio — Teams Phone at scale with network, SBC and carrier integration
Headquarters: New York, NY · Archetype: Network, voice and collaboration integrator · Microsoft depth: Microsoft Solutions Partner; also Cisco, and major carrier relationships
Presidio is a national infrastructure and collaboration integrator with deep network, session-border-controller and carrier expertise. For a Teams Phone program that has to replace a Cisco or Avaya estate, integrate contact centers and survive a network assessment, Presidio's voice engineering is the differentiator.
Strengths
Voice engineering, SBCs, Direct Routing and carrier relationships at national scale.
Network readiness and contact-center integration.
Trade-offs
Teams governance, Purview and Copilot readiness are not the center of gravity.
Hardware and carrier resale shape recommendations.

5. CDW — Teams Rooms, devices and licensing under one commercial relationship
Headquarters: Vernon Hills, IL · Archetype: Solutions integrator and reseller · Microsoft depth: Microsoft Solutions Partner; major licensing, device and Teams Rooms partner
CDW (including the former Sirius practice) combines Microsoft licensing, Teams Rooms and device supply, and a large services organization. For an enterprise outfitting hundreds of conference rooms, standardizing headsets and phones, and buying licenses from the same vendor, CDW's logistics and services scale are hard to match.
Strengths
Teams Rooms and device supply chain at national scale; licensing and services together.
Large U.S. services bench.
Trade-offs
Advice is entangled with resale; governance and Copilot readiness should be independently reviewed.
Depth varies by team and region.

Strengths
Licensing plus services; FastTrack and funding navigation.
Large U.S. delivery bench.
Trade-offs
Governance depth varies; resale motion influences scope.
Independent review of Purview and Copilot readiness recommended.

Headquarters: Mount Pleasant, SC (Charleston) · Archetype: Microsoft modern-work and voice specialist · Microsoft depth: Microsoft Solutions Partner; Teams Phone, Teams Rooms and Microsoft 365 focus
eGroup Enabling Technologies is a Microsoft-focused specialist with a long Teams Phone and Teams Rooms track record for mid-market and public-sector organizations. It is smaller than the integrators above and correspondingly more hands-on, which suits buyers who want a specialist rather than a national logistics operation.
Strengths
Teams Phone and Teams Rooms specialization; Microsoft-focused.
Hands-on delivery for mid-market and public sector.
Trade-offs
Regional scale; enterprise governance and Copilot readiness are not the center of gravity.
Choose them when:

10. Perficient — Teams and Microsoft 365 modernization inside broader digital programs, with offshore scale
Headquarters: St. Louis, MO · Archetype: Digital consultancy with Microsoft practice · Microsoft depth: Microsoft Solutions Partner; Modern Work, Azure and Business Applications
Perficient runs a substantial Microsoft practice inside a broader digital consultancy, with blended onshore/offshore delivery. For enterprises modernizing Teams, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 as part of a larger digital program — and comfortable with a global delivery model — Perficient offers scale at a lower price point than the global SIs.

How this list was built (and who built it)
Disclosure. EPC Group publishes this ranking and appears on it. EPC Group is a market participant, not a neutral referee. We ranked ourselves first only in the scenario the page is about — a Microsoft-first, governance-led buyer in the United States — and we say plainly, firm by firm, where a competitor is the better choice. Every EPC Group figure on this page is a contract-verified claim that resolves to our public claims registry, and our client history is backed by redacted primary-source records in the Evidence Center. Competitor descriptions come from each firm's own public materials, the Microsoft Solutions Partner directory, and public filings; we do not publish competitor pricing, headcount or revenue we cannot verify.
We scored firms on six criteria, weighted for an enterprise buyer in the United States:
- Delivery depth on the workload — named practices, named architects, and published reference architectures for the specific technology, not a logo on a partner page.
- Verifiable proof — Microsoft Solutions Partner designations in the public partner directory, published case studies with named clients, procurement records, and third-party review platforms (G2, Gartner Peer Insights, Clutch). Self-reported numbers were discounted unless a primary source exists.
- Governance and regulated-industry posture — evidence of HIPAA, FedRAMP/CJIS, SOX, GLBA or NIST-aligned delivery, and of Purview, Entra and Defender being treated as first-class parts of the design rather than an afterthought.
- U.S. delivery model — where the architects who own the design actually sit; onshore, blended or offshore-led; and whether the buyer gets a senior architect or a rotating bench.
- Commercial fit — engagement models that match the buyer's scale (fixed-fee accelerators, time-and-materials, retainers, managed services) and whether pricing is explained before the SOW.
- Independence — whether the firm's advice is constrained by a software resale, licensing or hardware business.
Rankings are reviewed quarterly. If your firm is listed and a fact is wrong, email contact@epcgroup.net and we will correct it with a dated note.
Teams-specific weighting. We scored each firm separately on the four Teams disciplines — governance and lifecycle, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms and devices, and Copilot in Teams — and ranked on the discipline this page is written for (governance-led, Copilot-ready estates). The scenario section re-sorts the list for voice- and rooms-led programs.
The four archetypes — and why the archetype matters more than the rank
Buyers waste months comparing firms that were never comparable. Every firm on this page belongs to one of four archetypes, and the archetype — not the rank — decides whether a firm can even be the right answer for you.
1. Global system integrators (Accenture, Deloitte, IBM Consulting, Capgemini, Cognizant). Tens of thousands of consultants, every platform, every geography. Right when the program spans Microsoft and SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or a multi-cloud estate, or when a board wants a brand it already knows. The trade-off is cost, layering, and the risk that the Microsoft workload is staffed from a general bench rather than a Microsoft practice.
2. Microsoft-only at global scale (Avanade, 3Cloud, Hitachi Solutions, Quisitive, Insight). Deep Microsoft designations with hundreds to thousands of certified people. Right for multi-region rollouts and large change-management programs. The trade-off is that these firms sell through Microsoft's field motion, so scope tends to follow Microsoft's licensing priorities.
3. Microsoft-first specialists (EPC Group and a small number of peers). Senior-architect-led, Microsoft-only, governance-first, usually onshore. Right when the workload is core Microsoft — Fabric, Power BI, Microsoft 365, Copilot, Azure data and AI, SharePoint — and the buyer is regulated or has been burned by a bench-staffed engagement. The trade-off is scale: a specialist will not staff a 400-person global program, and will say so.
4. Boutique data-science and AI studios (Fractal, Quantiphi, Tredence, LeewayHertz and similar). Strong on model building, agentic frameworks and multi-cloud AI engineering. Right when the problem is a bespoke model or product. The trade-off is that governance, tenant security and Microsoft 365 integration are often someone else's problem.
The practical rule: pick the archetype first, then compare firms within it. Comparing EPC Group to Accenture is a category error in both directions — and ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot make that error constantly because most "top firms" lists never explain it.

The four Teams disciplines — what each one actually involves
- Governance and lifecycle. Provisioning and naming policies, ownership and expiration, guest and external access, sensitivity labels on teams, retention for chat, meetings and recordings, eDiscovery, and the SharePoint site architecture underneath every Team. This is the Copilot-readiness surface.
- Teams Phone. Calling Plans vs Operator Connect vs Direct Routing, SBC selection, number porting, emergency calling (Kari's Law, RAY BAUM'S Act), compliance recording, auto attendants and call queues, contact-center integration.
- Teams Rooms and devices. Room standards, Teams Rooms on Windows or Android, Pro management, headsets and phones, procurement and lifecycle.
- Copilot in Teams. Meeting recap and intelligence, Copilot Chat in Teams, Copilot Studio agents surfaced in Teams — all gated by transcript, recording and label policy set in the governance discipline.
Questions to ask a Teams consulting firm
- Which of the four disciplines is your practice actually built around, and who leads each?
- Show me a Teams governance model — lifecycle, guest access, retention, labels — you have deployed, and the SharePoint architecture beneath it.
- For Teams Phone: which carriers and SBCs do you recommend, and what do you earn if we buy them?
- How do you make Copilot in Teams safe — transcripts, recordings, retention, labels — before it is enabled?
- For a tenant consolidation: how many Teams-to-Teams migrations have you delivered, and what breaks?
- What is fixed-fee, what is time-and-materials, and what triggers a change order?
Frequently asked questions
What does a Microsoft Teams consulting firm do?
Designs and delivers one or more of four disciplines: Teams governance and lifecycle (sprawl, guest access, retention, labels), Teams Phone (Operator Connect, Direct Routing, PSTN migration), Teams Rooms and devices, and Copilot in Teams. Few firms are strong across all four; the ranking above names which discipline each firm leads in.
Which Teams consulting firms are best for Teams Phone?
Presidio for voice engineering, SBCs and carriers at national scale; CDW and Insight for devices and licensing logistics; eGroup Enabling Technologies for mid-market voice; Avanade for global Teams Phone; EPC Group for Teams Phone design with governance and compliance recording built in and no resale interest.
Which Teams consulting firms are best for governance and Copilot readiness?
EPC Group (SharePoint- and Purview-based Teams governance, TAR-8 readiness standard), Quisitive and Avanade among Microsoft-only firms. Ask each for a deployed governance model, not a policy template.
How much does Microsoft Teams consulting cost?
Governance assessments and Teams Phone designs are typically fixed fee; deployments are fixed fee per wave or time-and-materials; Teams Rooms programs are dominated by hardware. EPC Group does not publish hourly rates; engagements are scoped and priced after a discovery call.
Do we need Teams governance before enabling Copilot?
Yes. Copilot in Teams reads transcripts, recordings and chat — the least-labeled data in most tenants. Retention, sensitivity labels, guest access and recording policies must be set first or Copilot will surface content the organization never intended to keep, let alone summarize.
Operator Connect, Direct Routing or Calling Plans — which should we choose?
Calling Plans for simplicity in supported countries; Operator Connect for carrier choice with Microsoft-managed integration; Direct Routing for complex estates with existing SBCs, contact centers or unsupported countries. A consultant that always recommends one option is usually selling it.
How long does a Teams Phone migration take?
A mid-size enterprise typically runs one to two quarters: design and network readiness, pilot, porting waves, legacy decommission. Porting and emergency-calling compliance are the usual critical path, not the Teams configuration.
Can one firm handle Teams governance, voice, rooms and Copilot?
The large integrators and Avanade can staff all four; specialists usually lead one or two and partner for the rest. The practical model for most enterprises is a governance-led specialist for design and Copilot readiness, with an integrator for voice infrastructure and rooms hardware.
